Artist's Description
This original oil painting on a hardboard panel is only 4 inches by 8 inches. I often work up small oil studies as reference paintings before working on larger pieces. It is much easier to work out problems in composition and color on small works. So with those possible problems out of the way I can proceed with confidence on th larger painting. Many of these small paintings are little gems of composition and color and look great in groupings of several small paintings.
