Description
Big ocean swells get smashed up as they come into shallower waters that have massive rocks protruding above the waves. These "wave smasher" themselves ae being smashed with each incoming wave. From photographs taken 100 years ago, it is estimated that this stretch of coastline has retreated about 100 feet, or about 1 foor per year. This ongoing battle between sea and land has produced some incredibally beautiful shorelines in Northern California.
