Painting - Oil On Hardboard
Description
This is a small (8" x 12") oil study for a larger painting. This is typical of the way I work. I may complete a dozen or more small studies of a particular subject or theme and choose the one that I feel would look the best to have as a larger work in the same proportions.
In the small Vermont villiage that I lived in for 24 years there were over 60 miles of unpaved, seldom used roads that afforded endless compositions. Of course, my favorite season was late autumn.

This one caught my eye! I love the fall colours and they work well against the evergreen on the left. Very beautiful work Frank. In my studio I have a special painting very similar to some of your work, and painted by one Frank Wilson! ...He was my Grandfathers brother who emigrated to Canada before the war.
