Artist's Description

This is a carefully rendered study in watercolor and gouache ... the mediums that I consider perfect for capturing light and texture.

These magnificent owls are hard to spot in the wild as they blend in so well with their surroundings. I am amazed when a great Grey Owl has flown right past me ... how silent the flight is! I felt the air disturbed by it's wings but did not hear any noise at all.
