This is a small oil study for a larger painting and typifies the way I work. I may complete a dozen or more small studies of a particular subject or theme and choose the one that I feel would look the best to have as a larger work in the same proportions. This painting may certainly end up being painted in a 12" x 24" or even 24" x 48" format.
